Christ Church has a new Associate Pastor
On Sunday, July 16, the congregation of Christ Church voted to call Mr. Jason Wegener to be the next Associate Pastor of Christ Church. The vote was the culmination of almost a year's work and prayer. The five members of the Christ Church Pastoral Search Committee worked diligently, listening to sermons, reading resumes, and conducting interviews. There were a number of fine candidates and the choice was not an easy one. But now Christ Church is looking forward to Jason taking his Presbytery exams and coming with his family to Katy. Jason's ministry will focus on discipleship, small groups, and pastoral care. He will also teach Sunday school classes and preach occasionally.
Jason is a recent graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he also served as a congregational care intern at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. During his seminary time, Jason's wife Amy has been able to be part of the Presbytery Women’s Ministry Leadership Team and hopes to see women’s ministry grow in other parts of the denomination. Jason and Amy have a passion for caring for the body of Christ and for seeing them built up through discipleship ministries; growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
